Polar

The polar regions are the areas of the world surrounding the North and South Poles. Generally, this includes the area above the Arctic Circle and the whole of Antarctica. These areas are heavily influenced by the seasons, with daylight hours and sea ice contributing to the best times to travel. The Arctic is well known for its polar bears, reindeer, walrus, and nomadic people. The Antarctic is known for its pristine icy mountains, remoteness, stunning beauty, whale watching and of course, penguins! In the modern age, both of these regions are easily accessible by ice-breaking cruise ships and flights.
