Adventure Holidays

Adventure Travel is probably one of the fastest growing areas in the travel industry. Many of the new generation of travellers are looking for something more out of their holiday experience. Maybe they aren't content to nestle by the beach on an island paradise with a pina colada and the newest Tom Clancy novel? Not that there's anything wrong with that – but pushing the boundaries sometimes to do something different is what people are looking for!

The category "adventure" covers a wide spectrum of travel. Everything from scuba diving, to mountain trekking, riding a Harley Davidson throughout Europe, or the winding slopes of Oahu, Eco tours to Central and South America, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, kayaking, bungee jumping in New Zealand or South Africa, seeing the elusive gorillas in Rwanda, or the equally elusive tigers in India and more. The sky is the limit!

Winter Activities

Winter activity holidays and snow holidays open up a wide range of activities from:

  • Skiing in Canada, USA, France, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland.
  • Snowmobiling
  • Dog sledding
  • Visit a reindeer farm in Lapland and learning how the Lappish reindeer herders live and who will take you out on a 12km safari.
  • Enjoy an exhilarating ride on a snowmobile
  • Learn how to control your husky dogs before setting off on a dog sled safari in Finland
  • Stay in the Ice Hotel, a glass igloo or if you prefer a more cosy environment you have a selection of log cabins, spa hotels or apartments to choose from.
  • Sweden – Ice Driving Academy. Have you ever wanted to fine tune your driving skills on snow and ice. Here is a chance to join an intensive course, with theory and practical experience all in one. You will be provided with a car kitted out for winter and around two hours of private tuition, a comfortable hotel room and a three-course dinner inspired by Northern Sweden. Your day will be rounded off with relaxation, a sauna and jacuzzi, with panoramic views over the ice and mountains. There is also a spa area there, and spa and massage treatments are available to book.
  • Finland – Northern Lights. Get taken on a guided search for the Northern Lights under a star lit sky. You are never guaranteed to see the real Aurora Borealis, but if you are lucky to see this magical spectacle the sights will stay with you for your lifetime.

At the end of each day a warm welcoming sauna awaits you. Whether you choose Finland, Norway, Sweden or Canada for your winter excitement, you will not be disappointed.
